Death Penalty

Oklahoma is scheduled to execute a man April 4rd, 2024 for fatally shooting two people in Oklahoma City more than two decades ago.

Michael DeWayne Smith, 41, will become the fourth inmate in the nation this year to be put to death if he doesn’t get a last-minute stay. Alabama, Texas, and Georgia already have carried out executions, according to a database kept by the Death Penalty Information Center.

This is the 4th case of 2024.

Do you think there should be a nationwide ban on the Death Penalty in the United States?

  1. Difficult to answer bc in some cases where there is definitive evidence of heinous remorseless crimes, I believe it is warranted. Why would we sustain a life for decades when there was no respect for life given to the victims.
