The Kamala Harris campaign wants to offer an average of $25,000 assistance to all first-time homebuyers in the country, which the Democratic presidential nominee says would be provided to more than four million people over four years if she were to occupy the Oval Office.
Simple math puts the cost of the proposed idea at $100 billion dollars should she be elected. This large expenditure would help only 1.2% of of the 330,000,000 US population.
In addition to the cost, opponents say that this will wind up causing more inflation in home prices by creating new buyers.
Do you think it is a good idea to create $100 billion in new federal debt to help such a small percent of the US population?
